New Documents Accepted for Form I-9

The Immigration and Nationality Act requires employers to complete an I-9 to verify the identity and authorization to work in the United States on all new hired employees. The final rule, which took effect on May 16, 2011, added new identity documents for the Form I-9, including the U.S. passport card.
