Why HR Shouldn't Fear Automation

As experts weigh in on emerging HR trends set to impact the industry over the next five to ten years, you’ll find predictions about artificial intelligence and automation displacing HR professionals or changing the way many operate. Truth be told, it’s creating uncertainty and anxiety for some within the profession, but is it all doom and gloom?

No. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.

In December, Paycor conducted an independent study that surveyed more than 500 HR professionals and C-suite executives within medium-to-small sized organizations to understand how HR leaders feel about the direction of their business, what the industry will look like in five years and how HR leaders can prepare for change.

Paycor’s Chief Human Resource Officer Karen Crone shared the findings of the study in a recent HR Tech Weekly article, explaining that even though automation might sound scary, it will provide HR the opportunity they need to focus on their company’s greatest asset, their people.
