March of Dimes March Madness Raises Over $2700
Posted on April 6, 2016
Throughout the month of March, a few hundred Paycor Associates in Cincinnati purchased tickets to win special raffle prizes or enjoyed as many of CFO Steve Haussler's Paycor-famous cookies as they could get their hands on. Their contributions directly impacted the March of Dimes!
The “March of Dimes March Madness” event was established by the Accounting Engagement Committee to help the department raise as much money as possible in one month for the March of Dimes. The Accounting department split into 4 teams that would compete against each other in "penny wars" for the fundraiser – pennies and dollars were positive, silver change was negative.
What started as an Accounting department initiative quickly spread throughout Paycor's Cincinnati headquarters, as the 4 teams found creative ways to raise funds for charity. There were split the pot contests, St. Patrick's Day-themed gift baskets, and the aforementioned chocolate chip cookies. Paycor CFO Steve Haussler made hundreds of cookies that were sold on three different days in March. The demand far exceeded the supply, as the cookies raised $300 in less than 30 minutes of sales on those three days! What did the team do next? Raffled off batches of cookie dough! Paycor Associates who participated in the March fundraiser were also eligible for Community Partners stickers, which made the event even more spirited.
In the end, Paycor's Accounting raised $2,706.90 for the March of Dimes. Said Andrew Miller, one of the event's organizers:
"Thanks to the entire Cincinnati office for donating and supporting our efforts – we had fun along the way and highly exceeded our fundraising expectations!"
