The six Ohio Chapters of the American Payroll Association recently hosted their 28th annual Ohio Conference for Payroll Professionals. The conference is designed to bring together payroll professionals from across the state to discuss industry trends, technology, legislation and best practices. It is also an opportunity for them to network and learn from one another.

Associates Arlene Baker and Niel Alsip represented Paycor at this year’s event. As tenured members of the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky chapter of APA, they were also involved in planning the conference, assisting with setup and ensuring everything ran smoothly. Arlene also gave a presentation on how to manage across generational gaps.

Major topics presented at the conference were the W-2 health care reporting requirements for 2013, adapting to a changing workplace, the status of state unemployment and FUTA credits and the best way to prepare for a Department of Labor audit.

All in all, the conference provided networking opportunities and continuing education for payroll professionals across Ohio.
