Paycor Helps Kids in Jax Have a Merry Christmas

For the fifth year, Associates in Paycor's Jacksonville office provided Christmas for the boys at St. Augustine Youth Services (SAYS).

These boys have all been taken out of their homes because of abuse. They range in age from around 5 to 18. SAYS provides the boys with shelter and food, but they depend on others' generosity to help with the holidays.

Each year, the boys create their Christmas wishlist. Paycor Associates participating in this Community Partners event each "adopt" one or many boys, committing to getting everything on his list. Paycor also provides stockings for each boy and we have traditionally bought a group gift for the entire house.

This year's gifts were delivered at the SAYS Christmas party on Saturday, December 12.

We crushed our goals for this year:

* Raising $3,140 for SAYS
* Fulfilling wishlists for 19 boys
* Filling stockings for 19 boys
* Buying an array of house gifts for the boys’ home
* Providing pizza for the party on December 12
* Showing up in person to hang out and play games with the boys

In total, 42 Paycor Associates gave their time and/or money to this great cause.

In the words of event leader Bob Mayo, "We had an awesome experience with the boys on Saturday. This was, by far, the most emotional of the 5 Christmases we’ve done so far with SAYS. The boys and staff showed so much gratitude. A few of them said it was their best Christmas ever."

We are already looking forward to next year's event, and keeping the boys from SAYS close to our hearts.
