The Family and Medical Leave Act: An Employee Guide
Posted on September 20, 2012
The Department of Labor recently released The Employee’s Guide to The Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). The FMLA helps to provide unpaid, job-protected leave when an employee or their family member has a serious health condition that requires time off from work. Time off may be taken all at one time or intermittently, as the medical condition requires. The FMLA helps to ensure that employees are able to take this time off without the risk of losing their job.
The FMLA Guide gives a simple overview of the FMLA and answers common questions such as:
* Who is eligible for FMLA leave?
* How does an employee request for FMLA leave?
* What can FMLA leave do for employees?
